Looking for an OLD RETIRED dog
Looking for an OLDER free "non-running" dog as a companion for the last dog I have left.
PLEASE SEE AD IN THE "WANTED" SECTION FOR DETAILS

I'm hoping to find someone that has an older dog they don't run anymore, and wants to find a good home for it

Old/Free dog wanted
I'm not into running dogs like I used to, my interest has shifted to fishing. I used to keep 4 or 5 running dogs. I am now down to one 8 or 9 year old female beagle. This dogs life long kennel mate mother (Buttermilk Tom girl) died just a few months ago. Since then, she has been lonely and sad. I'd ...

Re: Heating ????
I hear what you're saying Shady Grove, and I agree. With you having over 50 years of experience keeping hounds, it is exponentially more knowledge than what anyone can learn on the internet And you're probably right, it DOES makes me feel better. My ground kennels are well insulated, have a door fla...

Re: Heating ????
I use the hard plastic pad heaters too.
They turn off/on from the weight of the dog, and seem to work well.
The Hound Heater Deluxe does looks like it would work better.

Re: Branko vs or over weir creek
I would say gfedor description is pretty close to what I have seen. I have never owned a Weir Creek dog, but have run with them many many times. Very good line running dogs. The majority of Weir Creeks I have seen have a BIG booming mouth that I love...and hunt to spare. They probably hunt harder th...

Re: UKC Performance Pack- Michigan
I was past-president of the Thumb Area Beagle Club when UKC Performance Pack was just getting started. I liked the format as well or better than ARHA PP. We tried running both ARHA PP and UKC Performance Pack for a year or so. At that time, UKC PP never really took off as well as we thought it would...

Re: Put them deer running dogs under the dirt
Good post gw...I agree with your thoughts. Especially on not needing to correct a dog much more than twice Two other thoughts: 1...a hound who will not start a deer race is one thing...a hound who will turn down a deer race when another dogs starts one is truly deer broke. 2...I feel like if I start...

Re: Great Northern MI Weekend
Hi Kris, I've had a blast the couple times running yotes with you guys! Good to hear your young dog is doing well...he looks like a "Blue-Cap" in the picture above (I know he's not). I still have my Buttermilk female out of Nats Tom Boy. No matter what I do, she keeps getting older every year though...
