Re: Branko Dogs
It's a lot tougher for a dog to switch from hare to cottontail. A lot of it depends on the dogs traits and running style. Obviously you will probably have to solo and work the dog a lot on cottontail. Some dogs are just have the natural ability to do this quickly. I call them phenoms just flat out c...

Re: Most impoprted thing in rabbit hunting with your dogs?
I like a lot of the above mention. But the one thing that I enjoy is hunting behind a dog that wants to be there after 2:00pm in the day after long hard runs all morning long. The type of dog you have to tone them when you get to the truck because they want to keep going. Consistency in producing ra...

Re: GPS Training Collars
One word "Garmin". The only issue is the size dog you will be running. The older discontinued DC40 work best for smaller dogs. The new models have more features and better signal strength. The problem with smaller beagles is some dogs will hit their front legs on collar causing leg sores. We are all...

Rabbit population
Seeing a lot of rabbits in wv this year compare to three years ago. I hope this trend continues for years to come. 2009-2013 were thin years for bunnies. Seeing a lot of young rabbits as well. Thought the late heavy snow would wipe them out but numbers appear to be good.

Re: LEG DAMAGE WITH DC50 COLLAR
I have found out that with smaller 13" beagles you need to put dc40 on same collar as tri-tronics You then place it in front of your everyday collar on dog. This works on 9 out of 10 beagles but some dogs just run different and will continue to hit their legs. I know sport collar came out with a sma...
