Re: Average speeds for garmin owners?
Most days hunting we will run between 14 and 18 miles at an average speed of 3.2 to 3.8 mph.I consider my dogs to be upper med. to fast, all my running buddies say there fast,fast....IDK... If were in a place where there are not a lot of rabbits obviously that speed drops off some.

Re: Rabbit's taking the Gun season?
I hunt with 5 different guys with dogs, and we split up and go different ways a lot of days so I'm not sure how many we got all together, but on the hunts that I was on we killed 172,and missed 10 times that many.We had a pretty good crop of rabbits here in Ms this year.

Re: Garmin alpha
My bad,,, did not know the battery was changeable on the Alpha, I guess for 37.00 you could keep a spare with you just in case.As I said I run the dc40 and tt on a single collar,I've got dogs for 13 to 15in and have very little problems with them hitting as long as I put the garmin and tt collar up ...

Re: Garmin alpha
I have the 320 dc 40s with tt shockers on the same collars, thought about selling/trading to the Alpha system but the thing is the Alpha does not have changeable batteries which at first seems good but then I am not sure how long it will stay charged running 7-10 dogs,If it goes down on you then you ...

Re: What age to put a pup in the pack
I have a male that's 2 1/2 yr old and a fine gun dog, IMO.I put this dog in with a pretty fast pack of hounds when he was 5 1/2 mo old.He ran great from day one and has only gotten better.Cant say its good for all but this pup took off and never looked back.

Same here bought the coat and bib deal last year, the legs are to thin and had to wear briar pants under them.Didn't take long and the fabric was really frayed on the legs and soaked up water bad.The coat on the other hand is pretty nice.

Re: Garmin: 320-vs-220
Someone said they were loosing signal at 50 yrds sometimes and works farther out other times,I found out that you need to make sure the lights are blinking 3 times real fast on the collars before you put them on the dog.If you just turn them on and put them right on the dog before they have had time...

I see a lot of guys like to go with the floor of there kennel opened up so (stuff) just falls through,I find this to be very unsanitary and attracts lots of unwanted bugs, flies ect.especially in the summer, not to mention the smell.I built mine with a 2 x 8 treated floor and placed the boards as tigh...
