You will have to update your receiver to get the DC 50 to hook up. Go to Garmins website for the update.

I had a collar that was 2 years old that the same thing happened. Tried unplugging the battery and tried a new battery from Garmin and that did not work. Basically they gave me a RMA number for the DC40 collar and they sent me a new DC50 for 99 dollars. Sounds like they do not repair or make the DC4...
