We just raised a litter and though this may not be how everyone does it, this is what our vet had us do. He saw the pups their first week to remove the dew claws and examine them, he also examined the mother of pups at this time to make sure she was doing OK. He then had us worm them at 4 and 6 week...

OK...the base of the tail...hair loss...you said he was chewing and licking? It sounds like not just fleas but FLEA ALLERGIES. Been there...in a normal dog you would see the fleas, and you would see the "black dirt" or flea poop on the dog. BUT and that is a big BUT...in a dog allergic to fleas the ...

There is an infection that ANY female dog can get during the heat cycle regardless of breed...it is called pyrometra. A friend's 12yo German Shepherd got it last year....the only cure is an emergency spay. Type pyrometra into your browser and just know the signs of it....this way in the rare case th...

One of mine has what is called a functional one....our Vet said it was NOTHING in her case. He once at the beginning of his practice caused a client to spend a lot of money on tests to only find out it was nothing. According to him she can do anything else any other beagle or dog does, and she does.

May be fleas and a flea allergy. I am sure you aren't seeing any signs of fleas on her as dogs with flea allergies usually appear to be flea free...no flea dropping in the fur and no fleas on them as they are constantly licking and itching and removing the evidence. I have one that is allergic to fl...

Because like it or not....there are too many people out there buying dogs....that automatically when they hear AKC...think quality. You could probably sell them a cat and tell them it was a new breed if you had AKC papers to go with it. These same people will go to a pet store and spend $800 ...

Hate To be stupid BUT

Stupid is one that does not ask questions. Now remember I am new to this side of having beagles. ;) But what does a "walkie talkie dog" actually mean? I see the term used a lot and well...just have to ask.
