Dog getting sick or dying
Mr. Vansickle you need to talk to the guys at LFJ kennel. Seems after their dog, Crazy Booger REd won the world he came back sick and died. They would always go out a couple of days early to run some. They always figured that with the reclaimed strip mine land that the dog could of gotten into somet...

Any father and son judges
What about father and sons or daughters for that matter judging. I've got a son who'll be turning 15 soon and he can hardly wait till he's another year older so that he can judge. I hope he makes me proud. Anybody else out there know of two or more generations still judging. Off the top of my head i...

arthritis
Doc, I was just wondering. A fellow said his dog was on some arthritis medicine and said it was very expensive. I told him about some home remedies that were tried on humans. I read about one in particular that alot of people swore by after trying everything they could. You take some sun dried raisi...

Panacur
I got a tube of it at a local horse tack shop. It was shown as a horse wormer and i beleive i paid $8.95 for the tube. You can also get safeguard for around the same price. I had to go too our local farm co-op to get that.

Dog Boxes
Kip, the diamond plate boxes are very nice but can still be heavy when insulated. You should go with aluminum for lightness try this site out. http://www.dogbox.com The aluminum ones can easily be loaded by one person with little effort. Also there is couple made out of a hard plastic with storage o...

Dog houses
Nate,
Make sure that you frame the door openings, preferabbly with some type of aluminum strips. The young dogs like to chew out the openings if you don't do something with them

Grand Nationals
buckner , I'm sorry you feel that way. But here is the truth. I've judged alot of big name peoples hounds and some of the time they've ended up winning. Not because of who they are but because they brought some tough hounds and that particular cast they had the best dog down. Sometimes it's luck!. M...

The gortex socks are worth the price. I ordered the 11" insulated ones. I wore them with leaky boots and had dry feet and have worn them with tennis shoes while judging and have gone thru some deep puddles with never a drop. They gaurentee them not too leak for 5 yrs and i haven't had them leak yet ...

Running loose
Bob, I judge quite alot and you can usually tell when a dog has been trained by just letting it run loose or you just sit on the tailgate. It's the ones that go off hunting on their own not worrying about anything going on around. At the trials i like to ask the name of the hound and will try to cal...

cann't walk
Your dog didn't happen to jump off the back of the tailgate or off the roof of her house or even hit a good size hole while she was running. Sometimes a hard jolt will do that.

peace officer
Lance,
Sounds like you've got a grudge against any type of officer. I'll almost bet money on it that you've been stopped quite a few times or even feel like you've been singled out. Everybody has a job to do and he was just doing his the best he knew how.

Last that i know is Don McCutchen had Redman. He lives in Monticello,Ky. His phone# 606-348-9327. If Redman were alive i believe he would be around 18 yrs old by now, but i'm sure Don has that bloodline flowing in his kennel (Eastview Kennels)

getting a good dog
Not all dogs that are sold are culls. Alot of times guys just decide that they want to go to another line or they raise one that is too fast or too slow for their pack. Sometimes it's job changes or family matters that force a sale. I have sold a few dogs cheap and the guys always ask why and it's u...
