Re: Kennel cough
Try three drops of clorox (bleach) in drinking water. Regular treatment will act as a preventative.

Re: Patch hounds
Randy Phipps, good to know you are still breeding and running patch. Twister, the male I got from you has contributed to line along with my sister to your Blondie female. Twister has been bred lightly but has produced well. Like LR, I would take one of those pups from your coming litter (female).

Re: Patch hounds
Don't know who got the big dog fad started, probably someone who thought bigger was faster. I kinda wish the big hound lovers would just go to fox-hounds and not call them beagles. I can understand people who run in deep snow wanting larger hounds. Speed is a matter of a hound having a good enough n...

Re: Patch hounds
I use the kennel name of Sand Lick Patche, I'm sure that I would be considered dishonest for using the work "Patche" but I started using it before I realized that Patch was an AKC Kennel name. The first Patch hounds that I owned were grade dogs kept and bred by a friend and myself with our original ...

Re: Merry Christmas .........
Randy, hope this Christmas has been a good day, my hope is that somehow we can make every day Christ's day and that the world will respond with good will and a sense of giving to each other the eternal blessings of God. Hope your running is good. Lowell

Re: Breaking a beagle on deer
Bro. Ricky, I would suspect that you did you home work with young hounds before you took them to the fields. I have chased a few down myself. A scolding with a brushy limb seemed to work fine. I will say I own a six collar outfit and try to use it with good judgment. I see fellows who always have a ...

Re: Breaking a beagle on deer
Have been wondering how some of you fellows trained hounds before the days of e-collars?

Re: Breaking a beagle on deer
Easy, use very light shocks in the yard preceded by tone, no pup is ready to go to the field until it handles properly and knows basic commands. It needs to know what you expect of it. Sorry, not all are sadistic, just the ones who like to do it to prove how macho they are. Truth is, training pups r...

Re: Breaking a beagle on deer
I let my pups run any game they are interested in, that's why they were born. What if your parents shocked you until you pissed every time you messed up as a youth. The best way is let them learn that its more fun to run a rabbit than a deer. Being left out alone a couple night will do much more goo...

Re: Global Warming
Is everyone who has different views and facts from ourselves an idiot. There used to be a medical definition of an idiot but it sounded harsh and did not describe the condition of someone who is mentally disabled so when one uses the word they are using it as a hate word. I'm just getting tired of h...

Re: Global Warming
So was Teddy Roosevelt, Ronald Regan, and the father and son Bush's liberal? I thought they were fairly open-minded. I am extremely conservative about supporting war and allowing just anyone to buy assault rifles. Just wish everyone would forget trying to put a label on everyone else and work to sol...
