Re: dogs running in training pen
Puppies can become "pen-wise" I like to call it. That's when they need to leave the pen, if not just before. I notice this especially, in checks. The pups leave the check to find another rabbit, instead of working out the check. I believe this to be mental conditioning. They have been in every piece...

Re: Conditioning /boarding ny,pa,NJ ?
How is it going Mike? Glad to see you are still running dogs. I finished 2 little girls for IFC after Mike conditioned them for me. I got a couple now that could use some running. It is a long ways but worth it. Send me your number and I'll call you.

Re: ear mite remedy...
In college I did a antibiotic sensitivity lab culture on my chronic Springer Spaniel infected ear (not ear mites). She had been to the vet, got medicine no results. I included the vets antibiotics in my test (tetracycline). The result was Merthiolate and Mercurochrome were the absolute best and clea...

Re: Ivermectin Paste Dosage??
At the rate Dana quoted you it will also kill most intestinal worms. That much is not required for heart worms. They did a lab test down south to attempt to find the minimum dosage for dogs. The had 2 pens side by side, with a large cattle water trough sit in a hole cut in the fence between the pens...

Re: Need a class for oversize dogs?
As a guy that ran and trialed little hounds and had IFC Murray's Little Blazer (directly out of Heli-Prop) at stub I only received 1 stud fee for him. It was $150, it got lost in my wallet and the guy refused to write me another check. This bigger is better has wrecked the studding of little males, ...

Re: Summer feed
I beg to differ with the distinguish gentlemen above. I feed low protein food in the summer and high in the winter. Now, I'm going to stir the pot. An old time vet told me that high protein food year round will destroy the kidneys. It is often seen in working dogs, even had a beagle with bad kidney...

Re: July pups
The issue is not the temp outside, but the temp inside the dog house, but you knew that. Get a thermometer with an outside sensor. Drill a hole and place the sensor inside the house. This works until the mother sees it and chews the head off the snake (sensor). I believe the dogs normal temp is in t...

Re: ISO stud dog Eastern PA
I kennel is full of Heli-Prop, Ali-Baba and Jack. I use to have a lot Ranger Dan, but has gotten away from me. I would say that of these 4 hounds Ranger Dan is what you should be looking for. He was a great check hound and won many trials from the middle of the pack. Al Slocum (NY) had a very nice R...
