Those things caught my eye when they were first introduced. Should be a great gun for the bunnies and lots of fun for plinking too!

I need to go to the ivermectin approach, thanks for the link.
I'm told the dog must first be tested for heartworm before the Ivermectin can be adminstered though?

Down East Beagle Club

Well' it's been almost a year since I moved to North Carolina. Been dying to get to a SPO trial, never been to one, and to, hopefully, find a club to join and participate in. Somehow I got the idea that there was a trial at the Down East Beagle club yesterday and today???? Had some vague directions ...

but the only bobcats have come in the traps
Pretty much unheard of for yotes to enter a cage trap. Hard enough to get them in a foothold!

Photobucket has the URL under the pic, it starts with http.
Copy that, then come here. Click on IMG, then past the url after it. Easier than it sounds.....

Glad ya'll like that pic. My daughter sent it to me, she is in Vet Tech school and they had a copy of it on the wall in one of the classrooms with the caption: What "Sorry" looks like."

Teaching Handling

A couple years ago, at a LPOH club, I was speaking to a highly respected trialer/breeder. I said to him that I really didn't understand the basics of teaching handling. He just kinda looked at me and said "I don't either..." Is a good handling hound the product of his or hers good bloodlines,...

House dogs

OK, I'm fully aware that I'm somewhat of an "odd duck" here(lots of other places too I suppose ;) ) in that my beagles live indoors with me, and I don't trial(yet). Can't even tell ya the bloodlines of my dogs, sorry. Still in all, I'm curious about who might keed their hunting beagle/trial beagle i...

Mine are on a chain during the day, but in the house with me at night. There are some laws in North Carolina about dogs on chains, but I don't recall if they are state or local, was some stuff in the paper awhile back. Essentially, they stipulate the chain length(10' I think) and that the dog must h...

Treated or untreated wood for kennel?

I'm planning on building a kennel, elevated, with 3- 2x6 10's for the bottom members, 2x4's for the top, plastic flooring, wire mesh. I wondering if I should avoid treated wood because of the chemicals, chewing, and whatever? The wire should prevent "wholesale" chewing but I suspect the dogs could s...

Just saying hello

New to this board, just want to say hello. Until recently I lived in the Adirondacks, moved to North Carolina last spring. Have two beagles, and father/son pair. Have not run them here in the south, and they've never run cottontail at all. They're not champions or even trial dogs, just a couple houn...
