Re: Scenario - open discussion

Buddy, definitely keep your dogs! In my experience, you will have one or two dogs in your life that are exactly what you want! Then you will spend the rest of your life searching for another one or two just like them! Make sure to keep your running/hunting pals in pups, so as to keep your bloodlines...

Re: WHO's GOT THE BEST LINE CONTROL (stud dog please)

Better go with an Awful Bawlin or ThreeJays Jack's bred hound. Foot with great control, brains and hunt. Buddy of mine has a direct Striker male and he is out of IFC Squirrel Creek Angie to boot! These lines seem to cross well with almost any other bloodline. They are consistent, generation after ge...

Congrat's to Sean Barnes, Ashland, Ohio UKC PP hunt winner!

Congrat's to my buddy Sean Barnes for winning the hunt with his youngest female and placing third with his other female!
Great guy and great hounds in the making! Better look out for him and his hounds at the trials!

Re: AWEFUL BAWLIN

My male is out of Awful Bawlin Retread and ThreeJays Jack's Nikki. His first litter has turned out very nice and the second litter is just 7 months old and showing good actions. Intelligence, nose, speed with gears, and great hunt! What more can you ask for? These dogs are the best I've seen at lock...

Re: Opinion on bad scent day

I've been hunting with dogs my whole life, beagles, coonhounds, and bird dogs as well. There are bad scent days and nights. I think cottonbust misunderstood the man. I have learned a lot about scent conditions from all three types of dogs and one thing is for sure-if you don't take them out in bad c...

Re: Jessamine Kentucky trial entries ?

Ron, I may be living in a dream world, but I don't have to travel two and a half hours or more to spend my money for someone's opinion of my dogs. I can stay home and run them and it don't cost me a dime! Been beagling since I could walk, may not have been to alot of trials but I know a thing or two...

Re: Jessamine Kentucky trial entries ?

This kind of arguing and BS is what keeps people from coming to trials. I know it has kept me away for years! I don't like a bunch of drama associated with the sport that I do to relax and enjoy my dogs and don't think anyone else does either. I was at the trial on Sunday and was treated very well a...

Re: Pack sizes

I don't like more than 5 or 6 dogs on the ground at once. The cover is thick here and it is hard to keep track of more than that. If the cover was more sparse I wouldn't mind more dogs on the ground.

Re: striker x shaker??

I have to agree with IFC Clyde of Moonhaven. I recently hunted with a pup out of Clyde and a heavy Striker bred female and she was very impressive! As far as the hunt and jump of these lines, they have plenty of both. Definitely some of the smartest beagles I've ever seen in 35 years of beagling! Hu...

Congrats to all who won or placed! Finally got to make it down Sunday but was too late to enter. Did enjoy watching some good running! Plenty of rabbits! Got to meet some great folks! Will be back and on time to enter the next trip!
