No one said anything about trash breaking, or introducing the desired game to a dog. We are talking training a dog to do it well. Running game and doing it right can not be taught, it is pre-programmed. With some help a bad dog could possibly become better, but never be great. Any breed of dogs that...

Steve, I could have guessed that you would be the one to respond. 196 views and only one offer or suggestion. Just like I have said before, finding a real good dog to run in northern conditions consistantly is like finding a dinasoar. Steve, I am interested talking, e-mail me your phone number, I am...

Hunt6 and Farwest, thanks for not coming back at me with sticks and stones. After I left the computor yesterday and knew I wouldn' have a chance to get back to it untill this afternoon, I realized that I was a little quick with the tounge. I am not the kind to mince my words and sometimes my directn...

Well, if I had that answer, we could prevent serial killers, and I would be a rich man. My guess is that some are born, some are made. If everyone would read back, I have said that some of the credit should go to the handler, but most of it rest with the dog. Farwest, why do people ask stupid questi...

Hunt6, you might think its a pile of crap I'm selling, thats ok, you do your thing I'll do mine. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make them drink. I know that I have paid way to much money over the years, on well bred dogs, and most ended up as fertilyzer. The ones that did turn out had ...

Branko brought four dogs that all finished well, but how many did he not bring that had the same breeding, the same field experience and the same oppurtunity to become great. The handler does get some credit and field time does help a dog, but most are born with it. These fellas you talk about have ...

A lot more dogs back track than you think or want to think. How many times have the dogs jumped rabbits pounded them for 100 yards, then pick pick, to nothing. You figure its a "bad scent day" and say to yourself, "how can they run it that hard at first then suddely they can't smell it for beans". T...

The low presssure will keep the scent low to the ground, and high pressure allows it to rise straight up. Take a look at the chimney smoke the next time out. If it is going straight up, the running will be tough, if its spreading out and hanging, it should be good. Thats what the old timers say anyw...

Well said Steve. If you figure out the magic mixture, plenty of us on here in the northeast will pay for it. There seems to be a small group on here that have hashed this one out several times, and its funny we are all from the Northeast, Hunters, or Guides. No one else ever seems to have a problem ...
