Re: Hound heater

I have been using the Hound Heater for the past four years and have been very pleased with it, very well made. It has been extremely cold here in MN as of late and it is really nice to know that my dogs house stays between 45 and 55 degrees with the thermostat set at less than half. My dogs hunt har...

Re: Rossi Matched Pair Pistols

I have been using the Rossi 410 pistol for most of my shooting this season and have bagged quite a few rabbits with it out to 30 yards. Sure is easy to carry and fun to shoot.

Re: Rip Durbin valley hit man hart

Sorry for your loss of a great one. I feel very fortunate to have a female directly out of Hit Man. She is the best rabbit dog that I will ever own and has more personality than most people that I know.

Garmin saved my dogs life

Had someting happen a couple of weeks ago that I thought I would share. A friend and I had let the hounds loose on one of my favorite public hunting spots and had gotten about 150 yards from the truck when the old girl starts getting hot on a track. She goes over a small hill about 50yards in front ...

Re: Looking for input on hound heaters

I have been useing the Hound Heater this winter and am very happy with it. It is extreemely safe and well built, with the thermostat set at about half my well insulated dog house stays between 55 and 60 deg. even on -20 deg. nights. My little hound loves it... I have had trouble in the past keeping ...

Re: Snow

Here you go. http://www.houndheater.com . When I bought mine I also got the indoor/outdoor thermometer so I could tell what was going on. I used to pack her house full of straw but now all I have in there is an old comforter off my bed and can wash it once in a while. She is in a really well built h...

Re: Snow

I used to worry about my dog on those sub zero nights so I purchased her a small heater called a houndheater. They are made by a guy in northern MN who knows what cold nights are like. She was probably ok before but after a long day out in the woods I sure sleep better knowing that she is in a warm ...

Re: 410 judge

I have been shooting a circuit judge all season and love the thing, no problem killing rabbits out to 40 yards. What choke tube do you have in the gun now?

After re-reading this I realised that you were talking the pistol not the shotgun like I have, sorry...

Re: darn it's cold

As I sit here at 7am and drink my second cup of coffee the outside temp is -2 and luckly no wind. There is a fresh foot of powdery white crap on the ground and I am on vacation this week and hunting every day. It's a whole new game out there. The long hard pounding runs are over for now and everythi...

Re: Deer for Dog

The rib cage is the best part. I saw it into 3 by 4 inch chunks and leave all the fat and lard on it. The ribs are soft enough that my dog has no problem eating the whole works in a few minutes and with the fat it really keeps her in great winter running shape. As far as chaseing deer, she has been ...

Deer for Dog

I started doing something last year that has worked out really well for me and my hound. I butcher my own deer each season and when I am done I take the remaining deer carcass and cut the entire thing up into nice treat size chunks for the Friz. All that I toss is the head and the hoofs. I individua...

Re: Rossi/Taurus Circuit Judge

It has an 18 1/2 inch barrel, short gun. Should be a real treat to shoot in heavy cover compared to my 870 12 guage I had been useing. The only thing that I was dissapointed to learn was that you cannot alternate shot shells and 45's in the cylinder, you need to change choke tubes. I thought it woul...

Rossi/Taurus Circuit Judge

Had a chance today to get my new 410 Circuit Judge to the gun range today and check out it's rabbit gunning potential. Man was I pleasantly suprised. It shot great patterns out to 40 yards with 3 inch, 6 shot loads and should have no problem putting bunnies in the crock pot at that distance. I was a...

Re: Garmin DC 40 collar

I think that all that the download does is tell your handheld to live with the weak signal and not give you a lost dog message as often. I might be wrong but it sure appeared that way to me. I have went back to the dc30 until they make real improvements to the dc40.
