Ready. My young Gus dog from Dale Barnes needs to the hear the roar of the 870 and taste some fur. My patch Billie needs fur also, and my 9 yr old Mikey dog, I'll take it easy on him.


Going to get an early season hunt in Iowa, and late season one also. Probably hit GFW a couple of times.

Mine is BlackDirt Mikey.. 9 yr old grade dog bred by Brian Joiner Mikey isn't great at anything ,but he isn't bad at anything. A nice level headed dog, in all,respects. Nice to have around the kennel, a good balance of hunt, brains, conformation. He is still getting done , though a step slower at 9....

Tim H JMHO --- A fast dogs make up for mistakes ( ie losing contact with the line ) by hustle, simply covering more ground to retrieve the scent cone, and their runs are simply fast bursts of speed , followed by rejumps of the rabbits. I like mine all bout the same. I chased bloodlines for years, so I always had a mish mash pack. Some good, some not so good. Nowadays I enjoy running a brace, alot less hassle on me, and alot more quality running time for the hounds. Dont buy the anchor dog concept.
