Re: Rabbit Feeders

There is only about 3 feet of open ground on all 4 sides and its smack dab in the middle one of the thickest nastyest brier patchs there is. I also have a very active trapping program going on and it's being monitored by trail cams, If I see any predators there would promptly be traps around the fee...

Rabbit Feeders

I finally got around to constructing some rabbit feeders, I started with hog wire panels and formed a square. The holes should be plenty big enough for a rabbit to fit through but not for any predators. Then I brushed them in and used old steel doors to cover the top. Does anyone have any doubts abo...

Hunting in the snow

May not be exciting to some of yall but in my 22 years this is the first time I have had the chance, we don't get much snow here. Anyway we had some issues finding a rabbit but when we did it was a good one. They ran him for over an hour before we were able to cut the sucker off and kill him. These ...

False Heat

This past weekend my friend and I were running dogs, after 2 hard long runs his males started trying to breed my little female like she was in heat but I had checked her prior to bringing her. We put her up just to be sure but I checked her again today and still did not see any signs. She was last i...

Re: Rabbit habitat improvement

Doing some research it appears this Serecia is detrimental to the quail so I don't know about planting that. I will try the christmas tree thing and definitely the salt. I also have one of those timed feeders I might fill with corn and rabbit feed and put about 6" off the ground in the thickest bria...

Rabbit habitat improvement

Do any of yall do anything to improve the habitat for your rabbits? I have pretty thick land to begin with but I am always wishing I could do better. I have access to some small diameter cast drain pipe and was considering cutting it into sections of around 3' and placing them in spots around and in...

Re: Mange?

None of it really looks like a sore at all it's just kinda black and bumpy where the hair has fallen off, the hair does pull out easily but only in certian spots but these spots don't yet look unsual. My one female has it bad and now my male is beginning to get it on the tips of his ears. They both ...

Mange?

I have a female dog that has bad bumps on her ears, muzzle and head. The ears are loosing more hair by the day and there is an increasing number of bumps on her muzzle and head everyday. Does this sound like the mange or is it something else? BTW she is about 7 months old.
