Re: Alpha?
One of my collars wasn't charging well. I left the collar on until the battery was low enough the collar just shut off....then I charged the collar and repeated it again running the collar to dead and recharging. 2 yrs later I haven't had any issues again with that collar.

Re: TC g2 45/410 12" barrel
Depending on the conditions you hunt in a lot can be said for a shoulder holster. When the dogs are running a hare you pull the pistol out but when you're hiking through the woods it goes back in the holster where it's nice and protected. No snow getting in the bore, no scrapes and bruises when bust...

Re: running pens- vs--in the wild-
Build my first pen in 87. Have to say, put 4 good dogs on a pen rabbit that has been run a lot and if you can stay on that rabbit, Running in the wild is easy. But thats a pen with not many rabbits. A pen full of rabbits or place will make any dog look good. A pen with not many rabbits is a good pl...

Re: Herculiner on kennel floor
Sounds like a really bad idea to me....Herculiner has ground up rubber in it and is very "grippy"....I prefer kennels to be clean and I can see where crap would be a bear to keep out of that texture. I still think the really heavy coated wire is the best flooring out there....pressure washer and a f...

Re: What Makes a Good Trial Dog?
Depends on who the judge is....sometimes a judge likes a dog with a lot of mouth....a lot of foot.....slower with better line control. As much as the intent is to have all judging be basically the same each judge has their own personal preferences and that does impact how well a certain dog can do a...

Re: Garmin TT 15 mini collar dead?
Did you try hooking it up to a different charger? I had a similar issue with one of my TT10's....turned out that one of the connectors on my "Y" adapter cable was broken....it would make connection when I plugged it in but it wasn't getting a good connection so it wasn't actually charging my collar ...

Re: Falsified registration papers
I'd report it to AKC....so much in beagling depends on trust....anybody who is dishonest enough to falsify papers deserves to be outed in my opinion.

Re: Benelli Nova
I used to, they are a great shotgun the finish is better than my Reminton 870's and the action is considerably smoother. Mine never had any problems and I shot a lot of rabbits with it the only reason I got rid of it was I wasn't using it, I switched to a Magnum Research BFR .410/.45lc revolver seve...

Re: Heating ????
Hound heater deluxe. We carry them at Plum Creek Kennel Supply. 330-256-0530. Thanks Hound heaters work great, I have one in each of my dog houses. I've upgraded to all the heat n' breeze hound heater units that have heat and a cooling fan. The beagles love it, young dogs take the cold fine but the...

Re: Good carrying Pistol Model and caliber
Accurate at 30 yards is more the shooter than anything and it's pretty subjective. If you're going for accurate at 30 yards I'd stick with something of the full size variety to make it easier. I carry a couple different pistols when I hunt....I've got a Ruger LCR .38 with laser grips that shoots gre...

Re: Garmin, Whats your take?
I bought the Alpha when they first came out.....been using it every since. I'm not sure how many hours I've put on this unit but with exception of breaking one collar with a brush buster dog that tended to crash through or over everything in the woods to get the rabbit (exactly how I like it) there ...
