I'd be willing to bet that the boy has heard many discussions about shooting dogs. His father must be a stand up guy to have the boy call and confess. Hope he learns a valuable life lesson. Sometimes facing the guy you screwed is the worst possible punishment.

Hunt, nose, accurate mouth while moving in the correct direction, speed (only because I hate slow dogs), line control, stamina, and handle are all important. If you have some of each, you'll have yourself a nice rabbit dog. Leave one of these out, your in trouble. Jmo
