Runts in litters
I was wondering what causes runts in litters? Is it something lacking in utero ? If all the other fetuses get nourishment
from the mother how is it that one might not get enough?
Thanks for all input.

Re: I hate to do this........
I guess I'm one of those rare women too. I deer hunt (dawn to dusk) if I can , Trout fish, and have at this time 5 beagles and I trial. My husband of 27 years hates all three but lets me do my own thing. He helps drag the deer in for me ( I have to gut 'em though) and when I'm sick he'll feed the do...

Re: ? About trials.
Toadd to what MIke said in ARHA if a dog is picked up 3 times for running off game (anything other than a rabbit) the dog is banned from ARHA hunts for 1 year from the date of the last off game call.
At least this is true for the Progressive Pack division.

pups and heating
I have some pups due any day now and I was wondering if they would need a heat lamp for warmth at night. Here in Ga.
it's been getting down to the mid 60's at night. Is that still too cool for them?
Thanks in advance for any and all info.

Re: CHECK OUT MY NEW RABBIT HUNTIN BUGGY
Someone isn't being hurt by the economy!! I'd divorce my husband before I gave up my 4 wheeler!! It's a Polaris 600.
I used it this past deer season to haul out a big fat doe. I looove my 4 wheeler!

I have never had any direct dealings with Jimmy Adams but his website is called Alpine Kennels. It has lots of info about Frank Reese and the Gay/Baker bloodlines .

Re: Taste of the Wild
I started using it this week and the dogs are doing fine. I feed about a cup and a half - the directions say for a dog 20 - 30 lbs to feed 1 1/2 to 2 cups per day. I've already noticed that their coats look better and their stool has firmed up. The one drawback some might have from this product is i...

Re: Arha Registration
I believe you are correct. List the owner's name in the correct place on the entry form and your name as the handler. Also starting next year you will have to show proof of ownership and also proof that the dog is a champ or grand. If you are going to handle a dog for someone you will need to have t...

Re: snowing in south mississippi
you're right ironjaws - I'm southeast of Atlanta and right now everyone is on pins and needles anticipating snow flurries. In the south there's very few snow trucks and southerners wouldn't know a snow shovel if you hit 'em up side of the head with it!! In my county we have dump trucks with dirt/san...
