you can change an akc dogs name as long as it has no points in an akc event or has ever been bred.

Re: Scenario - open discussion
i think we all go through this at some point in time. i think the best thing to do is continue and run as much as possible. also if its possible and its that important to you get pups or dogs into the hands of your buddies or people you feel you can trust that you can go back to in the future. its a...

Re: Running prenant bitch
I think of it this way. does a coyote lay around for two months and wait on someone to bring them food..NO.. I know a domestic dog and a coyote are two totally different creatures but I believe it helps keep the muscles strong in the birthing process. I also don't allow them to fat extra fat on them...

I feed it to every litter of pups with great results. I am feeding the 31/22 to all my dogs now and I am really happy with the results I'm getting from it.

Re: top ten--in worst conditions--
He'll also be the first to tell you that a hound with the superior ability to run in extreme conditions can sometimes make you [me] pull your hair in good scenting conditions. When I go up to New Hampshire in October to run bare ground hare she isn't the front runner.
This is a very true statement.

Re: top ten--in worst conditions--
most of our dogs that we keep that hold things together in rough conditions are not the front runners this time of year. they look good but it is on ice and powder that the shine. I have been impressed with Jim halls hounds in rough conditions, we have a female out of northway, branko and maravicks ...

Re: Branko Dogs
this would be my answer to your question. Are you planning on watching the dog run before you purchase it or are you going to take their word on how it runs? If your not planning on watching it I would not purchase it. We run our dogs on hare every year and it takes them some time to swing back into...

This is true. She placed in every trial I put her in except for one which was the pa state hunt. She was a special hound that taught me a lot of lessons.

I will add that I championed some of those dogs in little pack , but none of their ancestors were trialed in any format to my knowledge within six generations.

First your definition of cull and mine are different. To me she would be a cull by my definition if she lived her and would not be passed on. If you plan on selling her I would make it cheap with no papers and the new owner had to spay.

Re: Thompson Contender 45LC/410 question ?
my understanding is that the "choke" is not actually a choke ,but actually causes the wad to stop spinning which in turn causes a tighter pattern. if you shoot a wad down a rifled barrel it causes it to spin and throw shot out the sides causing a larger pattern. I would recommend not having it in fo...

Re: I've Grown to HATE a full length tail on a beagle!!
I am finished with this post. I understand why Jim stated what he did(I took it as more of a public announcement than something to debate, but like others I weighed in with my opinion.). I am considering one of his males as a stud. I may or may not dock their tails. but if I get a pup from Jim I wil...
