Re: INCORRECT PEDIGRES
We had this happen years ago to a female we purchased from someone we trusted. We had her DNA profiled and raised a litter of pups out of her. A few years later we received a letter from AKC that someone had DNA profiled her sire and that it was really NOT her sire! Her registration and the registra...

Re: matted eyes
In Beagles with excess tears/runny eyes that are not resolved by antibiotics, eye rinses & Benadryl - generally this is what we have found to be the problem: http://www.vcahospitals.com/main/pet-health-information/article/animal-health/distichia-or-distichiasis-in-dogs/2136 If it is severe, you may ...

Re: Puppy Diarrhea?
If it is not parvovirus, coronavirus, or worms - then this should work: Coccidia and Giardia have similar symptoms, we treat for both at the same time to prevent the loss of pups (See http://www.johnkoerner.org/LittleBlackBook/) . Here is what we do. Purchase: *Fish Sulfa Forte: Sulfamethoxazole 800...

It's not that bad once you learn the symptoms and how to treat it. Since Coccidia and Giardia have similar symptoms, we treat for both at the same time to prevent the loss of pups (See http://www.johnkoerner.org/LittleBlackBook/) . Here is what we do. Re: Cauliflower looking growths
Here is an article about this: http://www.marvistavet.com/html/body_canine_viral_papillomas.html We have had FAST results by using the antibiotic "azithromycin" for 10 days. You may need a prescription from a vet, it ran about $70, but is cheaper than surgery - which in our experience they have grow...

Re: Tape Worms
The most effective tapewormer we have found is labeled for fish, with the active ingredient 34 mg of Praziquantel called Fish Tapes: http://www.jefferspet.com/fish-tapes/p/0033044/ Give 1 capsule for each 10lbs of body weight (2 capsules for a 20lbs Beagle, 3 capsules for a 30lb Beagle, etc) and rep...

Re: Vaccine Reaction
We no longer use 7-in-1 shots because of vaccine reactions, we use 5-in-1 shots instead. If you're going to use a 7-in-1 vaccine, give them Benadryl (25mg tablet = 1/2 tablet for puppy/1 tablet for adult Beagle) 30mins to a hour before vaccinating. It will generally prevent vaccine reactions.

Re: HOT SPOTS
Try bathing her in Oatmeal Baby Shampoo (for human babies) and add some Tea Tree Oil to it (in the human vitamin section). Then give her two Vitamin E capsules (in the human vitamin section) with her food each day. This has worked for us every time with hot spots, fungus & allergies. Repeat the bath...

Re: Shipping a dog out of the country...
We had someone overseas who wanted to buy a pup from us 2 months ago, after checking with many licensed shippers - the average price was $2500 to $3500 just to ship one puppy! Of course the buyer backed out  I'm sure some people may be willing to pay that to ship a dog, but I know very few who ...

Re: Dog Hernia
No, this is not an abscess, it is a hernia. It is filled with skin tissue and possibly intestines. You should not try to burst it. You can either leave it alone (if it is not bothering the dog), or have a vet correct it surgically.

Re: How much for stud fee
I think it depends upon what the stud's puppies sell for. A reasonable stud fee is generally the amount the female's owner will get for one puppy.

Re: HART WORM ?
A good read: http://www.oldcountryvet.com/youtube_heartworm.html You can either: A) Have a vet treat the dog. They inject it with a drug that will kill the adult heartworms, usually 2 to 3 injections are done over a month or more. The dog must be kept completely quiet for several months (crated or V...
