In SPO that is a huge deducion they want the dogs staying on the line when dogs start skurting like that the pack don't run as smooth. A lot of times older dogs skurt pilesbecause they get rabbit wise and know the rabbit came out the other side.

I believe hawks and owls migrate so the local birds are coming back for the year and the ones you see in winter head back north.

To trap the weasel i make a box out of 1x6 lumber about 12" long in one end you drill a hole 1.5" where the weasel can get in the box. you put a rat trap facing the hole. Mink and weasel are a huge problem also especially on lil ones. Two years ago we didn't see any lil rabbits on our grounds and the overall population was down. I trapped almost 20 weasel off the grounds last winter and a couple mink. This year we had rabbits everywhere.

being in construction you only get off when the weather is miserable and usually raining. So I run a lot in the rain throw a rain suit on and away you go. The dogs definitly don't mind and we always seem to get rabbits up. Go get em!!

I think tattooing is your best bet then it is visible. You have to put it on the inside of the leg if you put it on the ear they can just cut the ear off where it is tattooed. The micro chips are not any good if the dog doesnt get scaned.

Check out equipment for sale on this sight there are a lot of used ones on there for a good price. I personally have a diamond deluxe and I love it. Its All diamond plate and put together good it has the top storage wich i would recomend it comes in handy. Something like that will last many years
