Re: Penrose mama mia
I know the Male your talking about. He was the only one in the litter so Jim let Tim keep him. I believe he named him Bucky. Then Tim sold him. I ran Punkin's sire awhile too. Turbo was a hard hunting male with a booming voice. He was a nice dog also.

Re: Penrose mama mia
Sassy was an excellent dog and would've stayed in PA had she not been promised to someone else before hand. If my memory serves me right the female you have is named Punkin. I ran with her when she was 10 months old. She was talented then.

Re: Penrose mama mia
Welch's Markanthony sire is FC Donna's Darling Darwin and his dam was Andy's Waggin Wanda. Northern Dancer sire was Snowman's Demon and her dam was Snowman's Winter Rage. I have ran with Butkus but only once. He was a line running check machine that day. I wouldn't want to even compare them because ...

Re: Penrose mama mia
I kept a female that I have since sold. She was excellent in the kennel and acted fine but I didnt like her immaturity at 8 months old. She spent more time playing than hunting. My brother kept a Male from the cross. He has good hunt, decent line control, and seems to have a good nose. He biggest fa...

Re: Penrose mama mia
I own Mia and have since she was born. Her sire is FCLP Shooters Page 2. Sammy was the best dog I have ever seen run and ran with him many many times. He is out of the Shooter Dinah cross. Her dam is Strickler's Rugged Charm. I bought Charm when she was about 15 to 18 months old and she lived here u...

Re: best time to raise a litter
I would rather have one bred in July. September pups would be ready to start when the running is good due to more big running buck rabbit chases. I am working a newly started pup now. I am soloing her but its tough with so many baby rabbits and rabbits that keeping running same small circle. Confuse...

Re: Running Pen Size for Cottontail
Let me start by saying this is just my experiences with running in an enclosure. I think there is good and bad when running in one. The enclosure I run in is an old brace club so there is alot of mowed paths. It can teach a dog to be lazy and walk the paths and if that happens too often the dog does...

5 year old Beavercreek Blue Max female
Diamond is 5 going on 6. Her sire is IFC Beavercreek Blue Max and her dam is FC Southwoods Cyclone. She is AKC registered. She has had one litter of 7 pups and raised them all. She is a bluetick with red ticking on her legs. She has an honest mouth, good nose, and decent hunt. She has been gunned ov...

Re: Checkwork
How can you say the way akc intended? You talk to the akc reps about it? I had an interesting conversation with Mr. Robert Oliver who is an akc rep at a Midwest trial. He runs a UBGF style dog. If the akc felt a certain style was the correct interpretation wouldn't they want the people they pay to r...

Re: Checkwork
The problem is everybody interpets the rule book differently. If you asked the UBGF guys, the Appalachian Gundog Brace guys, the Midwest guys, the PBGF guys, or any other style out there they will all say they run as close to a rule book dog as they can find. There is so many different running style...
