Re: Best way to start ?
Thank you for the very informative post. I enjoyed it. I can see already the patience thing being paramount. It is SO hard not to correct the hound out of frustration or anger. He can sure push my buttons. But,he is a pretty good boy in general, and seems to have a little brains to boot. My biggest p...

Best way to start ?
Hey all. I just picked up a training collar, and was wondering. What is the best way to work it into a training program. I guess what I am wondering most, is how to introduce the dog to the collar. Should I start with small behavior adjustments around the yard first ? Before heading afield and launch...

Chewing kennel.
How do you stop a beagle from chewing up is kennel. He is making a pretty big mess of it on a couple spots. Not to mention the wood he has to be injesting. I doubt that is a good thing. Any sugestions?

Hey Hardwoods,how about that
. I am 20 mins south just off 36. Near Oliveburg. Who da thunk it. I'll give you a whoot sometime to get together and BS. Maybe meet for some wings or pizza someplace. I really appreciate the offer to go running. I'll give you a call. Thanks a bunch,Rockdog.

Re: How fast is too fast?
Hogbody: Yeah,Chopper is a pretty big boy. He is a solid 15" and will be a year old the 19th of June. Heavy boned, big feet and that blocky hound dog head. We should talk about the collar. I'm going to need one I figure. I've been to Hermitage a time or two in years past. I could likely find it again...

Re: How fast is too fast?
I would love to turn him loose on a wild rabbit. I think I better have a collar on him before I do though. I've been looking at the refurbished units on collar clinic. I'll pick one up as soon as the finances permit. I don't know anyone nearby that has seasoned hounds to run him with. I would like t...

How fast is too fast?
Can a beagle be too fast? I have been working my hound out with a tame rabbit and am having some success. Old bunny isn't all that enthusiastic when it comes to making trails,so I decided to help out a bit. I put an old hand towel in with the rabbit to get good and smelly. This evening made a short ...

Re: Dripping urine
He is 10 months old. I haven't seen any blood as of yet. Just clear urine spots on his old bed sheet that he lays on when he comes in for a visit.

Re: Which e-collar?
Thanks everyone. I appreciate all the good advice. Of course at the moment,I only have the one hound, but I can see at least one more in the near future. I would think 4 would be all I would I could feed and handle at any one time in the forseable future. I didn't know collars were that flexable. I l...

Which e-collar?
Hey all. I have been reading and searching the site looking for the skinny on training collars. Now that I am good and confused, what is the best bang for the buck? I'm not necessarily looking for a budget collar, but I am a K.I.S.S. kind of fella. Complicated stuff makes my head hurt, lol. Thanks,Rock...
