The one trait that most of the ones I have seen have is above average hunt. Some of them hunt VERY hard and I like that!

I like shredded paper. It is very absorbant and it mom swallows a bit cleaning the pups, it will not hurt her. You do have to change it pretty often.

I am 99% sure it is not mange. Are there fire ants where you live? That would be my first guess.
