i have 2 house beagles that im tryin to get into hunting.... i have taken them out a few times and they seem to be interested but no hits... any tricks???

i remember having dogs that would jump and run a rabbit for days. only thing i had to do was drop the tail gate and take 2 boxes of shells. alot of shooting then. even had one that if a rabbit went into a hole it wasnt a problem, he would dig is way in after him.. no rabbit was safe! lol

Its a shame ur wife didnt get a chance to see how her present works! Think u should do it again so she can get the full effect. (':shock:')

i was talking to a guy lastnight who said that this is the worst time to hunt rabbits..the female looses all of her scent while she is in heat. i have never heard of this and was wondering if this was true? what do u guys think?

hey guys, used the saline rinse for 2 days now and the dog is doin great. i never saw anything in his eyes but it seemed to help a great deal. hopefully by tomorrow mornig the eyes will be cleared for great hunting!! not that my female is in season he'll feel like giving me some pups! javascript:emo...

i had him out on saturday and the poor guy run just about all of his weight off in 8 hours and got a thorn in one of his pads. so since sunday he has been living it up with the Xtra speacial treament and treats.. just hope that i can get his eyes cleaned out for this weekend..i have some saline flus...

i have something similar goin on and a guy left a message about allegies. said to use childrens benadroyl. i'll let u know how it works out for my 2yr. after i try to clean his eye out first...

this morning i went to the pin to feed the dogs and my male's eye was matted completely shut. the other one was not as bad but still alil rough. any idea of the cause??

thanks for the tips... i m goin to go ahead and try and transplant. the rabbits will have plenty of food and cover. The reason for lack of rabbits is, heavy hunting and coyotes. just bought some snares yesterday to take care of the yotes. so hopefully between transplanting and killin yotes the hunti...

i was hoping i could trapem and move'm to the farm. maybe have a few more to shot at next season.. but come next saturday not luck.. i think the shot gun trap will work JUSSST fine..

i have been trying for 3 weeks to catch a couple of rabbits by the house. i have used everything from Havaheart to box traps. I have also used ever bait that i can think of.. (apples, carrots, lettece,sweetfeed,corn) if anyone knows something that i missing it would help greatly. thanks guys

thanks for the help guys.. i only have the 3 dogs.. i just hate to give them up because like i said they will just blister a rabbit.. saturday all 3 hooked up at the end of the day and circled one 3 times for a 35-40min run...it was great!! but hopefully ur suggestions will help. i'll keep u guys po...

Nothing beats the Mossberg 12ga pump. use nothing larger than 7shot high brass. and no matter where the bunnie is. Just point and shoot!!!! plus for those suckers moving at 100mph its nice to be able to get the second, 3rd, or 4th shot off!!! lol
