Re: Training "Down" in Field

You have a good start, now start making her down at a distance in the house and yard. Let her drag the leash so you can go and correct her when she doesn't do it. Start off when she's a few feet away from you and increase the distance and add distractions as she progresses.

Beagle obedience training (videos)

Here's a few video's of one of my beagles that I don't run anymore. I decided to do a little more collar training with him plus I get tired of beagles getting a bad rap as being un-trainable etc...

Re: Throwing up

Could be he's eating to fast. Does he eat it again when he throws it up? Put some round rocks that he can't swallow in his bowl before putting the food in. That way he has to eat around the rocks which will slow him down. Another way is to feed him on a cookie sheet. If that doens't work you can rul...

Heat related article...

I saved this a few years ago and since it's getting warm... Avoiding Heat Related Injuries in Dogs Nate Baxter DVM The first thing that needs to be understood is that dogs and people are different enough that most of the info cannot cross lines. I do not profess to know what the appropriate procedur...

Re: Here Kitty Kitty

This works good and won't bleach em out. I've also heard that go jo hand cleaner works but never tried it. Paul Krebaum, a chemist, invented a new more effective formula for de-skunking a dog. Mix in an open bucket or bowl: 1 quart of 3% hydrogen peroxide ¼ cup baking soda 1 teaspoon of strong liqui...

She probably paints your toe nails Randy. Might be the reason your name is wrongside, as in bats from the wrong side of the plate.

That just about killed me... :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha: :haha:

I have these in my boarding and training kennel. They're really well made and work great.

Re: Feeding dogs bones?

You can give them bones as long as there NOT cooked. The people who feed a raw diet do. Even chicken bones as long as their not cooked. I give mine the biggest nylabones you can get. Their not the cheapest but they last a long time and the dogs never seem to get tired of them.

Dog Joke

Two guys stop at the local watering hole for a beer. When they walk in they notice a dog laying by the woodstove licking himself. One of the guy's say's "I sure wish I could do that." His buddy say's "he'd probably let ya but you might want to pet him first."

I have a set of Tubbs that I really like. If you wear the same boots with e'm, their easy on and off. I think the only option is to have two sets of shoes. A smaller pair and a bigger pair for the deep days. It seems to be a no win situation though. You don't sink as much with the bigger pair but it...

If you go to i tunes you can find a few different ones. You can download them for .99 cents. You can click on the songs and it will give you a 20 sec. sample of that song. The artist "Jimmy Riddle" and the album "Stars of Hee Haw & the Grand Ole Opry" sounds like what your looking for.
