Hunting Beagles With Ear Problems, Any Help?

Several of my dogs have balding patches on thier ears, which doesn't seem to bother them but looks terrible! The areas are dry and don't seem to itch. Someone told me that it was from the dogs ears getting wet when running, another said it was a fungus from briars. Any suggestions on what this fungu...

Any advice on finding used training collars?

I am trying to find a used Tri Tronics or other training collar system, I'd rather have a two-dog system but will probably have to go with one for now. I'm new to the sport and have four young dogs (plus some great people training me!) but REALLY can't afford new collars. Any ideas? Thanks all!

You guys are great, thanks for the advice! I treat here year round also, (must be close by Buckshot, 72 here today!) and hadn't thought about using a syringe on the larger doses.

Thanks all, I'm looking up the catalog now & will pick up some seven dust when I get the shavings on Friday!

Strange timing but, Frontline question...

I know it's late in the year, but I'm putting in new dog boxes & the pups have fleas! I've been using Frontline Plus & swear by it, but needed to see if anyone has found a place to buy it by the bottle instead of individual doses? Between two of us there are 17 dogs/puppies which is getting expensiv...

Missed your post

Hi! I'm so sorry that I missed your post, we would have loved to have come. I have never trialed before but that is my goal for my kids (2 - 8mth girls and 2- 4 mth boys). Please email me if you have another, I'll pass the word around here and could probably generate some interest! Thanks! Barbara w...

"Tularemia" Any Advice?

This is the same post from the other forum, just looking for advice! thanks all! I've dealt with guns all of my life but never actually hunted, so I'm taking a hunter safety course to get my hunting license. (The pups say I have to have it so we can go play with the big dogs this fall!) The instruct...

tularemia? Any Experiences?

OK, New to the sport here, but have some GREAT pups! I've dealt with guns all of my life but never actually hunted, so I'm taking a hunter safety course to get my hunting license. (The pups say I have to have it so we can go play with the big dogs this fall!) The instructors warned us tonight about ...

Starting Pups

I'm new to running beagles and most in my area don't start really working them till 4-6mths! I thought this was crazy & take mine everywhere! My 7 mth girls are at the front of the pack & my 3 mth male scented a rabbit the other day that the pack then jumped! He didn't know what he was doing but it ...

Help for newcommers?

I have two 7mth females & two 3mnth males, females are running well already but we're learning together! Would love to know where to go to get help in learning how to train for & get into trials & tell whether my pups have what it takes. Thanks all!
