Re: MID-WEST AND ESPO WHAT THE DIFFERENCES
If you want to go to a PA club and see run to catch, the next AKC trial is at Susquehanna Valley Beagle Club. It is the first weekend in March. I'll be there!

Re: MID-WEST AND ESPO WHAT THE DIFFERENCES
Remmy, PA can go either way when it comes to your Reggie vs Pro question. Generally speaking the clubs in NEPA favor a stronger running dog. I place and win with my hounds consistently in NEPA, New York, Mass. The IBGA is promoting a great hunting dog. My dogs are based off the old DFJ bloodline wit...

Re: Shake bred males!!!
Take a look at Flat Creek Junior. He has more foot than his sire, which is the Bandit dog. His mother is out of Jeramiha. Nice running dog I think he has five wins now and just needs a few points to finish. He won the IBGA championship under me and then a week or so later won Etown under me. He is 1...

Re: Shake bred males!!!
FC Bust'N Loose Bandit would be my pick. I have judged this hound many times and he is a really nice hound. More of a medium speed hound but will cut you to death. When he turns it he can hang on to it for a long time. He is also the best Flat Creek/shake bred jump dog alive. I Bred my FC bitch, who...

Re: Wiercreek beagles
My old male (Tucker) is linebred Weir Creek through the DFJ Hounds. DFJ Suzie White and her littermate FC DFJ Murphy White were directly out of Weir Creek Buzz. This cross was actually a linebreeding of some great old hounds. FC Weir Creek Buzz was born is 1964, so even the "line bred" hounds have a...

Re: Buck's Branch Willie Boy / Buck's Branch Englebert
I plan on breeding a FC bitch of mine to Willie Boy as soon as she comes in heat. She is the real deal and an outstanding jump dog. She also won trials on hare and cottontail. Her only fault (IMO) is she can get rough on the line at times but I'm hoping Willie puts a lil more control into the pups. ...

Re: Somebody/Anybody
There are many factors that come into play (more than in beagles) when it comes to a complete coyote hound. One of the areas I think a beagle would struggle with is killing a coyote. I've seen plenty of big hounds leave a chase when challanged alone. My yote hound will kill or at least bay a coyote ...

Re: Somebody/Anybody
I would think you would have an issue running yotes with just one or two big beagles. When that 50lb yote turns and wants to fight it could be big trouble. I thought about crossing my yote hound with a beagle, but didn't for just that reason. You would be fine running fox tho. If you would be intere...

Double.....Yote
I shot these last Sunday. The one on the left was hauling azz across an old road with the hounds in hot pursuit when I dumped her. The one on the right was a 48lb male that was running on a big top. He would make a big circle then run lil rabbit loops. After I climbed straight up for a few hundred y...

Re: Hard hunt/grit beagle line
pilotknob, Generally speaking..... My dogs would probabaly be a step quicker than PP style dogs, and a step slower than mid-west style AKC. My old male is line bred DFJ through ARHA PPGRRCH Coker's Junction Spud. My best outcross thus far was with a line bred Indian Hills bitch I got off RB as a pup...

Re: Hard hunt/grit beagle line
I've looked at way too many bloodlines looking for what I want in the Hunt/Grit dept; I'm sold on the DFJ/Weircreek stuff. My old male is linebred tight DFJ/Weircreek, he one of the grittiest jumpdogs I've ever seen. We've been breeding him with some awesome results. Yea he is producing some FC's, b...
