An old timer told me the same thing. Said it messes up their nose. If you sit down and really think about it...we can smell the cedar chips but can't smell a rabbit track. If the dog can smell the rabbit track, smelling those cedar chips is probably equivalent to us sniffing model glue.

Let's see, you had the Ben dog, Sammy Wells was in there, Bomb maybe, Newman's had one it and a couple of others. Been a while so I can't remember ...

Bells might be nice when you're hunting but I can't stand them at trials. I've seen dogs not pack up because they couldn't hear another dog barking over the ringing in their ears.

If you go with the sign and phone number, you might want to put something on the sign about "No Calls After a certain time". A friend of mine has his land posted with his phone number and you would be amazed at how late some of these people call. Then again, seeing as they took one of your pups, the...

I've had that problem before. It was really bad if I didn't have a lot of time and they had to sit in the kennel for a week. They would just keep running past each other until something interrupts their straight line. I split mine up and it wasn't as bad. By themselves, they still ran every now and ...

Sorry everyone, I just had to throw my own dog in. I figure this is my one chance in life to beat some of the big dogs. It's all mine when they don't make the cast stakes.

Nothing unless he's pulling them out of the check area. I can't stand when there's a mouthy dog in the cast. Nothing against the dog or owner but when there is a mouthy one, you have to be right on top of them when they break down or you'll never know when to start counting the 15 seconds.

I also think we have a good minus system but not everyone uses it. At the Ohio State hunt, there was a dog that barked three times right off the lead so I put him on the clock. He worked around and then after about a minute and a half, he threw his head up and took off. I minused him right then. Eve...
