Patch Bloodline
I’m looking for information on the Patch bloodline. Not really looking for info on one specific dog. Just interested in the history of the bloodline, the popular dogs out of it, what traits do they normally have, etc. Any and all info is appreciated. Feel free to pm me or respond to the topic. Thanks

Re: How did they get them eyes?
We have a 15 month old male with one eye like that. I've always heard it called moon eye. Therefore, we named him Moonpie.

Genetics
Simply put... they either have it or they don't.

Re: Rabbit Season
Had a nice hunt today. Dogs ran several rabbits & we were able to kill three. The temp was mild but it was overcast for most of the morning. Allowed us to hunt longer.
Sounds like everyone is having a good start to the season. Continue to keep us updated.

Re: I love/hate to shoot rabbits
We run our hounds year round as well. Nothing like sitting on top of a holler field watching the hounds work. However, when season comes in... we're there to harvest rabbits. We try not to jump shoot them, but it happens every so often. We are fortunate to have some great spots to hunt and the rabbi...

Re: Rabbit Season
Westridge, evidently nobody but me and you on here has rabbit dogs. They all have hounds that run too fast for their noses and cant keep one going for over a minute without 2 or 3 breakdowns and then cant find the point of loss, but they will dedicate 50 responses to something as dumb as "Fastest H...

Rabbit Season
Just wondering how everyone's season is going? Running has been consistent. With the mild temps, it's almost as if the rabbits are mating. Last weekend we were jumping a few doubles. Sort of like running in the Spring. Overall, I'm pleased with our start to the season. Hope everyone is having good r...

Re: FOOT OR NOSE??
I agree with Jude. Nose is very important. If a beagle can't smell a rabbit. It doesn't really matter what kind of foot it has. A beagle should run a rabbit track as fast as their nose let's them. On a good scenting day, heads up running. On a bad scenting day, gear down to keep the track going. Jus...
