It is obvious to me that I don't have the best.

I hate a dog that is gunshy. Almost as much as I hate a breeder that will breed a gunshy dog and sell pups out of it. I also do not like dogs that can only run a track for 50 feet before breaking down.

I like dog that hunt and an honest mouth dog that can take a track and move it out.

Dog starts barking like it is looking at a rabbit. Runs the track for about 30 feet and stops and is looking down a hole. None of the other dogs make it to where this dog is. How would this be scored?

Attend a trial and go with casts and see how the hunt is handled before you actually enter a dog. Ask questions and it will not be long before you catch on. Then start entering dogs and have fun.
