There is a dog named Rocket in the Sissonville WV area that is out of Turbo that you may want to look at. Real impressive dog. Not far from Charleston. The dog is owned by Jeff Haynes and Paul Bonham.

I have owned two Dog C's in my life and can't wait until I own another. One male and one female. Too bad I owned them 10 years apart and never got to breed them together. The male did not hunt very hard either but was a winder. I don't remember him ever going into a brushpile without a rabbit coming...

I used to go out and give my barking dogs a switching and they learned to be quiet. Once in a while the dogs will start carrying on but now I only have to give one a lick or two and make a big comotion out of it and I can hear the rest of them diving in the dog houses and get quiet. You don't have t...

Length of tail

I know that at ARHA Little Pack hunts there are bench shows held and one of the criteria for a hound is the length of tail come to the bend in the back leg and no farther. It looks like a lot of the hounds have had their tails docked about 1 inch. Is it common for folks that enter dogs in these show...

Northway question

Are the Northway hounds generally faster speed hounds or were some of them more conservative? How about a couple generations back?

No way Afghanistan is under control yet. It just seemed a little funny to me that Afghanistan took the first hit and that just happened to be the area that a new oil pipeline had been proposed a year before 911.

Iraq was not a nuclear threat. Actually was not a threat at all. Afghanistan was not a threat but harbored the taliban but they are not the only ones. Surely taliban training camps are set up in many other parts of the world. Seems funny that there were plans for an oil pipeline to be constructed in...

DEW CLAWS

Why are some beagle pups born with rear dew claws and some are not. Usually the whole litter has them or don't. I have a litter born a week ago and one pup had dew claws and the rest do not.

If your dog is leaning backwards, put you hand in the middle of his chest and try to push him back even farther. He will resist and will push forward and correct himself.

I use the white barrels for dog boxes in my truck. I screwed a flat piece of plywood in the bottom to make it more comfortable and probably warmer. The straw tends to break down shortly. The barrels get very cold around here in the winter. If a dog has to touch the side of the barrel when he lays do...

Nice job. I recommend that you add doors to the sides of the pen just in front of the entrance to the barrels. This will enable you to easily reach dog pans that the dogs knock around the pen and will give you easy access to hang flaps over the entrances in the winter. I also put doors in the dog bo...
