1 PUPPY LITTER?

My female only had 1 puppy yesterday! Is that right????? My female really slowed her eating in the last weeks, but she seems healthy. The puppy (male) seems really healthy, his cord is still attached, but about 8" long and dried. He is active, crying and feeding. I don't think she would eat ...

Runts of the litter?

Just wondering, Are runts of a litter typically any good? Do they have problems more than they're litter mates? I have a true runt who is half of his litter mates size. I breed 10" beagles and he looks like he is going to be smaller then all the rest. They are 6 weeks old and he is healthy but he is...

Hey hillbilly,
The dog in the top picture looks exactly like my 3yr old male "Whistlers Cadance". Thought I would mention it since it caught my eye. All the dogs look great.

BREEDING QUESTION

Hey guys,
My questions are:

1. Is it desirable or ethical to mate beagles that have the same father but different Mothers?

and

2. Would there be any problems with mating a 13" male to a 10" female?

Thanks,
Chris

I see you all like the fast 15" bloodlines, but what about the med 13" & under bloodlines? It looks like to me everyone who are into 15" live more to the north. I live in Eastern, Va and the 13" & under do well in the flatlands and briar patches.

And another question I have is I just got a 4 1/2yr old who just had pups about 8 or 9 weeks ago, when will her body be ready to start ...

Man, that sounds great, my friends and I were wanting to get into a club and start learning the trials, but Route 81 is to far away for us. Hope to find a club or more guys to start a club here East of Richmond.

I find here on the Eastern side of Virginia, where the land is flat and open I like the Medium speed of a dog. They hunt well and push the rabbit a little slower so either you get a better shot of a slow moving rabbit or you get longer hunts, which allows me to enjoy the day longer. FC Rob's Diamond...

Alright, Here are some more lines I'm looking at:

FC B & W's Wright Line Brownie
FC B & W's Wright Line Jesse
FC CHB Rob's Diamond II
FC Smith's Buzz Saw
FC Bryson's Swamp Creek Buzz Boy

I'm new here and was looking to see if any of these bloodlines were of good quality for medium speed dogs.
