Re: How Important is close check work?

I run and judge midwest trials, speed with control looks pretty good, rough and crazy does not. A dog that can turn out from a pack that misses the turn looks pretty good. Over running the end and having no clue where the turn was can be summed up this way, "the cheese fell off the cracker". A dog t...

Re: I have a bad bag of BlackGold Puppy chow?

Several years ago myself and a buddy fed black gold, for a couple years the dogs did good on it. Then we got to the point you could not keep weight on the dogs and they looked like crap. We stopped feeding it and I won't feed it again. I have read on some of the coon websites about getting bad bags ...

Re: Butkus fans!!?

I had a male littermate to Butkus, he was a good one. Unfortunately he was hit on the road, which pretty much sucked. He was 14 3/4", he had awesome line control and was all rabbit dog. He was not the fastest dog, about a 7, but was very good on checks and double backs. I have 2 young males out of h...

Re: jump dogs in field trials.

As a judge in AKC, if I can figure out or know what dog jumped the rabbit, it gets score. Sometimes you can't tell if you don't see it or there are several dogs running the rabbit by the time you catch up. But for me, jump dogs get score.

Re: Congrats Ethan Patterson And Bull

Ethan had a good weekend, 1st (Huron Valley) and a 3rd (North Central) with Bull and 3rd with Patti at North Central. He was also doing a good job of hunting for rabbits :D and running with the judges to help judge. Good job by Josh and Rick for showing Ethan how much fun dogs can be.

Re: North Central Ohio Beagle Club AKC SPO 4/16-4/17

Just talked to Chubby and have got him hired to marshall all 4 classes since he did so good last week and he is trying to get to 10 trials as a marshall. With 2 classes per day, Chubby will be a busy marshall. If he pulls this off, he will definately be marshall of the year. Also bought him a case o...

Re: +011 calls

I also had one of those calls and then charged for it, probably came from the cell phone company so they could make money. Mybeagles, Hopefully we can help you keep your sanity, most people think we are insane for running dogs like we do. Thanks for being in the Army and making the sacrifices that c...

Blair for President!! Missed seeing you at the trials in KY, not the same not knowing the names of the rabbits we are running. Watch out for the snow snakes.
