Re: Free 14" female
that's funny. to me you are doing the right thing with her and if I was a kid getting into it that would have been great. hopefully she goes to a good home. Good luck

Re: How old is too old????
One of the best dogs I have ever owned was 2 years old when I got him. He was well taken care of but lived in a suburb chained to a dog house since a puppy.

Re: Can you tell.
Hey gwyoung, why all the hostility? All the guy did was ask a question. You are the one that took it to a new level and got personal. Then you went and hammered on kbasler1s.
It was just a question, answer it or don't I don't care. but are you going to be part of the solution or part of the problem.

Re: Another type of packing ????
Chop, the idea is mabey to get her confidence up by soloing her. I want her to take ownership no matter what dog is on the ground. Casey, I dont believe there has been any fight. These dogs have all grown up with each other and in the fence she goes up to them all, and they all get along. Not saying...

Another type of packing ????
I have an 18 month old female. She has no problem jumping, running, checking, doing anything when it comes to rabbit hunting. When I take her with my other 3 hounds she leads the pack. I take her and 2 of my other ones with my buddys (he usually brings 3) she shuts down. She will hunt on her own but...

Re: Take your time.
Great post and very well said. As my 18 yo son is trying to figure out what to do with his life now and kinda dragging his feet. I told him "you are going to wake up tomorrow, 30 years old a couple of kids, wife and mortgage. It happens that fast." He looked at me oddly but I think he understood.

Re: lost the best pup I have ever raised
It will be hard no matter what you say. I have 4 with 1 being a house dog and that just makes it that much worse when something happens. Your son is going to have to know that when it comes to beagles there are things that happen when running rabbits, and its out of your control. Sorry about what yo...

Re: A Rabbit dog?
My buddy and I took a guy out yesterday. 5 dogs on the ground 4-7 degrees, 7 great runs and 4 dead rabbits which he shot 2. We ended the day back at the trucks and the guy we took went home after we all enjoyed a beer at the tailgate. He calls us 2 hours later at my buddies kennel and all he could t...

Re: My dog is dying and I can't figure out why... Update
I will compare a beagle to wrestler. A football player twist his ankle and hobbles off the field, a wrestler will brake his arm and look at the clock and say "I can finish coach". I have had 2 beagles show some impressive strength, 1 caught a few bebees from a gun shot. I freaked out and she kept hu...

My brother is in town and wanted to get in a quick hunt. Dogs did good, 4 jumps, 3 good runs and 2 dead rabbits in 1.5 hour. Its been a few years since he has been out with me.

Re: Bizarre dog story
when I was in school 25 years ago I had a male that like to take a deer every now and then. So I barrowed a shock collar and away I went. Never using one before I didn't put the prongs in (not sure why my buddy didn't have them in there) but anyways. He took a deer and away he went. A month later wh...

Re: Duck Dynasty
Honestly we need more people like Phil. He has core beliefs and sticks to them and is not afraid to say them. Our govt has given the power to these rights groups where nobody else is allowed to have an opinion and speak freely. we live in a country where it is ok to protest at a soldiers funeral tha...

Re: dogs that hide food at feeding time
My old female will do that when she has pups. Other than that she is in a box by herself. My 2 males are always fed in their box and I never noticed them doing it. Now my female at home, well she loves to play with her food. She takes a piece out bats it around the house then eats it and goes and gr...
