Here I did all my homework and decided on the Classic 70 XLS two dog system. Now I see the manufacturer has come out with the Sport G2 series and the Multi-Sport G2 series. Can anyone explain the difference? I believe the Classic 70 XLS has a working range of 1 miles where the new G2 series is 1/2 m...

It's nice to see some name's pop-up more than once, which verifies the quality of those foods, and puts them in the upper percentile of the preferred food list. Unfortunately, not all names are available to everyone. Brian, of Blackdirt Beagles, mentioned a Sportmix 26/18 (blue bag) which he liked, ...

Feeding Raw Eggs
My wife raises chickens, which gives us an endless supply of eggs. I was wonder if there would be any advantage to feeding a raw egg or two to the dogs each week mixed in their food?

"That is why you always want MEAT MEAL as your 1st ingredient, not meat." MSU Dawg, this makes sense, but I really don't want to spend 3 hours going over every bag of dog food in the store to find the right combinations, and trying to do an end run around those that I think might be trying to scam m...

For those interested, here is the information I received along with my two free sample bags. It's Aspen Bed. It's made by American Excelsior Co. 1-800-777-7645. They have 26 branches around the country, so I'm sure there is going to be one close to where you're located. The product is made from pure...

I don’t understand how you can compare a show dog to a hunting dog! From what I’ve seen at the dog shows I’ve been to, you just have to have a dog that looks like it’s got some life in it, can run in a circle at the end of a lead keeping its tail and head up! Oh, it helps too if you hire a high pric...

KLR, Yup, could of paid the property tax for this year on puppy money! 10 pups is pretty good, but I recall reading on the Drudge Report a week or so ago about a dog that had 26 pups!! Struck the "Mother Load" on that one! Heck, if that were one of those $1000-a-pup litters.....someone could be on a...

Bev, if I can come watch a dog run, and prove itself based on it's own merit, to the requirements you've outlined, then yes I feel that's a fair price that I'm willing to pay! Again, that's me and what I'm willing to pay. Can't say the same for a guy that might have just got laid off or hit with a s...

I think that a pedigree only offers some statistical probability that a puppy will hunt. I also believe that it is also a selling tool. Weighted too heavily as a selling point on the puppy. After all, a puppy at this point has only proven that it can eat and mess newspaper! Now if you do your resear...

Percentage of puppies that turn out to be good hunters
I read a lot about all the emphasis put on using the different high powered bloodlines in breeding and was wondering what was the percentage of the puppies in a litter that would actually turn out to be good gun dogs? I realize that the trial guys are probably the pickiest on speed, line holding, et...

Frankly, I don't see why anyone would buy a puppy, and pedigrees don't chase rabbits. So I'd say add another $250 to your 150.00 and get a good started dog! I think it would be interesting to know as to how many of the puppies in a high profile pedigree litter actually turn out to be good hunters? D...

WOW! Some of you guys are real hard hitters! LOL As a person new to this forum, and one who is looking forward to attending my FIRST EVER beagle trial in Pierson, MI on Feb. 19th as a spectator, because I don't own any good dogs yet. I have to say I'm surprised to hear about all these corruption, fa...
