I have owned one dog, a grade female (Brandy), that I would consider a true jump dog. I have had dogs that would hunt hard and jump or start a lot of rabbits but would not consider them a true jump dog, just hard hunting dogs. Brandy would make it look effortless. We have a lot of hedgerows here in DE. and I want them with me. That means within 20 yards or so. If they get too far ahead, they usually have went by some of the good cover and I call them back. Keep running them together. I have one that was like this for a while. She could stay on the line real good, but would get left behind when the rest of the pack took off. I just kept running them together, and now she runs right with them all the time now.

Ended the first week of hunting with 22.
10 on opening day (Monday)
0 on Tuesday. although we did jump 6-7, just couldn't get any in the bag

6 Saturday
Dogs get a week off till the weekend to rest up after working very hard this week.
