Re: Tick Question
I was considering the purple cattle tags but my daughters like to play with and pet/handle the hounds; so I wanted to get something that wouldn't make them sick!

Re: Tick Question
I found Frontline Plus kits on Ebay. The kits have three tubes containing the Frontline Plus for 89-132 pound dogs, a plastic screw top vial to store the extra unused Frontline Plus liquid, and a oral syringe to measure and apply the Frontline to your dogs skin. The cost per dose is $2.44. They rang...

Tick Question
I have been using Frontline, but it can get expensive with more than one dog. So I have been searching the forum for other alternatives. My questions is, how effective would tick management be if I purchased the next weight up (23-48 or the 45-88) of the Frontline and then use 1/2 of the amount per ...

Re: Over Running/Reaching Question
I ran in the second pack of the morning. I agree with you. I want a dog that works a check but I also want a hound that has enough brains to realize that it may have to move out from the check to reestablish/keep the line going.

Re: Over Running/Reaching Question
Thanks for the replies. Yep, Smoke'n Mack, I was at the trial, I had a good time, lots of rabbits, nice running grounds, and your club is always hospitable. I feel the judges did a good job of judging last weekend. This was the second time I have run under Stephanie. I feel she is an excellent judge...

Re: Over Running/Reaching Question
Thank you for kind words S.R. Patch and Deerhost, she is a nice little female. My female's pedigree has a lot of SPO Blood (In-line, Postoak and Goerschs', etc). I think that I'll solo her two or three times then run her with my buddies dogs who all run very similar and well with one another. She ha...

Over Running/Reaching Question
Due to poor weather and my daughters swim season, I haven’t run my dogs as much as I had hoped. The dogs haven’t run much since mid January through mid March. I went to a SPO trial this weekend and my female was picked up for over running. She just turned 2 years old in January and did fairly well l...

Astro 320 with Classic 70 (G3) Collar
Does anyone run their Classic 70 (G3) receiver together with their Astro 320 on the same collar to help save on the number of collars needed to wear on their beagles? Just thought I would see what people thought or how they set up their collar system on their hounds.

She has been running for 10 months and is about a 6 on speed. They are 1/2 sisters (same sire) My older female packs and solos ...

Packing Up Question
My 11 month old female runs a nice rabbit. I began working her on rabbits at 7 ½ months old. She has a good nose, runs a nice line, and works a check well. I've shot some rabbits off of her this year; she's probably a 6 or so on speed. For the last 2-3 weeks I have been trying to get her to pack wit...

Re: New Pup
Thanks! My girls love to go out with me to the beagle club and run the dogs. I enjoy getting out in the field with them to train the dogs. The girls are learning a lot about beagles. They can tell you the different sizes and colors and a little about running styles. They love to go to the trials to ...

Training Question
This week I got a new female puppy, she will be 4 months old on the 19th of November. I also have a 9 1/2 month old female that searches pretty well, is able to jump her own rabbit, and has been consistently running/circling rabbits for the last 6 weeks (we go out three to four times per week). I pl...
